I am associate professor at the Department of Social and Developmental Psychology and at the Graduate Program in Psychology, Federal University of Espirito Santo, Brazil. I got my Ph.D. degree in 2001 from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. At present, I supervise Ph.D. and masters students.
I am member of the International Association for Relationship Research (IARR), National Council for Family Relations (NCFR), Society for Personality and Social Psychology, Interamerican Society of Psychology, and a member of the Editoral Board of "Personal Relationships" (IARR journal).

My main research interests are interpersonal relationships and social networks with emphasis on friendship and cooperation.
Currently, I am investigating intercultural and international friendships and international scientific cooperation.
