I am professor at the Department of Social and Developmental Psychology and at the Graduate Programme in Psychology, Federal University of Espirito Santo, Brazil. I got my Ph.D. degree in 2001 from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. At present, I supervise Ph.D. and masters students.
I am member of the International Association for Relationship Research (IARR) and of the Editoral Board of Personal Relationships (IARR journal).
I am also president of the Brazilian Association for Interpersonal Relationship Research.
My main research interests are interpersonal relationships and social networks with emphasis on friendship and cooperation.
Currently, I am investigating intercultural and international friendships and international scientific cooperation.
